When we saw this tutorial in a Free People blog a couple years ago, we knew we had to try it out. It has all our favorite characteristics of an EAC-friendly DIY: easy, cheap, and involves food! Not only do the berries give your lips a subtle hint of color, but the olive oil is there to moisturize, leaving you with naturally colored and hydrated lips. Follow along below for how to make your own.
10 raspberries (or 5 raspberries and 5 blackberries)
1 teaspoon olive oil
In a small bowl or ramekin, mash berries with a fork (until they are the consistency of jam).
Add olive oil.
Strain the mixture with a fine-mesh strainer. You may need to use the fork or a spoon to push it through the strainer.
Apply to lips with your finger. It may require a few coats before the color comes through.
Note: Mixture will last up to a week if refrigerated in an air-tight container.
